Identity theft ranks very high among American security concerns. In fact, along with national security, this is the number one concern of Americans.
The twice-annually published Unisys Security Index says that 65% of Americans are extremely concerned about the identity theft issue.
Americans are not alone in their concerns. Germans claim bank card fraud and identity theft as their second most important security concern.
Almost 100% of Spanish citizens are concerned about bank card and identity fraud and 66%+
claim it's their major security concern.
In the UK, 51% claim identity theft and misuse of bank and debit cards is their primary security concern.
Among Belgians, the misuse of credit and debit card information is the number one security concern, although only 36% of Belgians are seriously concerned and this is a significantly decrease from previous extremely concerned figures.
